Racine man, 88, dies after parking lot assault

Racine, WI (AP) -- Racine police say an 88-year-old man has died a week after he was assaulted over a parking lot collision. A 23-year-old suspect is in custody.

Police say Albert Paragamian of Racine died Thursday at Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa.

Racine County Medical Examiner Tom Terry tells The Journal Times that Paragamian had been on life support since the assault. He was punched in the face and knocked to the ground, striking his head.

Police believe a 23-year-old Racine man punched the victim. The suspect has been jailed on probation hold since March 4.

The assault happened March 3 in a parking lot at Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints hospital.

Police say a 16-year-old boy who had turned himself in to police initially gave inaccurate information about the assault.
