WISCONSIN RAPIDS (WAOW) -- The Wisconsin Rapids School District is forced to cut millions of dollars, and they may not be done.

The school district had a budget shortfall of $3.1 million.

Monday night, it cut $2.8 million from expenses on supplies and personnel.

The cuts impact one administrative position and 20 teaching positions for next year.

"We'll have to do things differently. Class sizes will be larger for one thing. There'll be some things that teachers like to use in their classrooms on a regular basis, they may or may not be doing them next year as a result."

The district also expects to lose about $500 per student in state aid, as a result of the new biennial budget. That loss will create another shortfall of about $2.9 million.

The district is looking at how they will begin rebalancing their budget for those losses.
