MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Federal authorities in Milwaukee are preparing to auction off hundreds of diamonds, watches and pieces of fine jewelry following a recent embezzlement case.
The property was purchased by Sujata Sachdeva. She's a former Koss Corp. executive who was convicted of embezzling $34 million from the headphones company. She was sentenced in November to 11 years in federal prison.
She used the money to buy expensive clothes, jewelry and furs. Authorities are now auctioning off her assets to cover the cost of restitution.
The items include an 18-karat white gold diamond necklace, a 7-carat platinum diamond and a diamond wristwatch.
The public can preview the items Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Wyndham Milwaukee Airport Hotel. The auction will be held live and online Saturday morning.
