(WAOW) - It's almost kickoff time for the inaugural season of Wisconsin Wolves' football.
The Wausau-based women's team plays its first ever game Saturday in the Milwaukee area. On top of the normal trials involved with preparing for a debut, the Wolves this week saw their head coach hospitalized and will be led on Saturday by wide receivers coach Ron Nelson.
Luckily, for a first-year squad, this group has veteran leadership, including a center with 14 years of football experience and a quarterback that went to a final four with the Pointer hoops team.
