Final push under way in Wis. Supreme Court race

Posted:

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Both candidates in the Wisconsin Supreme Court race are making a final push as their campaigns enter the final frenzied day.

Justice David Prosser and Assistant Attorney General JoAnne Kloppenburg are vying for a 10-year term on the high court. They're making last-minute stops throughout southeastern Wisconsin on Monday to thank supporters and encourage others to vote.

Tuesday's election has drawn national attention because it morphed into a referendum on Republican Gov. Scott Walker and his divisive collective bargaining bill. The conservative Prosser has been portrayed as a supporter and Kloppenburg is considered a left-leaning alternative.

Weather isn't expected to keep voters home. Forecasters expect mostly clear, dry skies with temperatures ranging from the mid-40s to mid-50s.

The election is expected to draw at least 20 percent of registered voters.
