1 dead, 1 sought after high-speed chase in Madison
Madison, Wis. (AP)-- One man is dead and another man is sought by police after a high-speed chase on the west side of Madison.
Reports claim it began early Monday in Iowa County. The Dane County sheriff's department says it received a call from Iowa County authorities that two vehicles were racing toward them.
Dane County deputies picked up the chase at the county line. One suspect's vehicle crashed near a grocery store about 11 a.m. The driver fled through the store and stole a truck while the other suspect drove away.
The suspect who drove away, later hit a tree. He died at the scene, but has not been identified.
The stolen truck has been recovered, so that suspect may be on foot. Authorities consider him dangerous and possibly armed.
