Irene C. "Dolly" King, age 70, of Stevens Point, passed away peacefully on Friday, April, 8, 2011, at Ministry St. Michael's Hospital.
She was born on July 24, 1940, in Knowlton, to the late Frank and Verna (Hintz) Rozak and attended a one-room grade school in Knowlton. She was a 1959 graduate of Mosinee High School. On July 18, 1964, Irene married Thomas J. King at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Knowlton.
Irene worked for Intercity Bank in Wausau, and following her marriage, worked at Tempo Dept. Store in Stevens Point.
She was an avid league bowler, enjoyed attending church, playing bingo, going to casinos, fishing, the Green Bay Packers, country music and vacationing with her family in Nashville and Branson. She especially adored her grandchildren.
Irene was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and is survived by her husband, Thomas J. King of Stevens Point; sons, Travis (Sarah) King and Tanner (Melinda) King both of Stevens Point; brothers, Harry (Dorothy) Rozak of Plover, and Richard Rozak of Knowlton; sister, Clara Stanchik of Stevens Point; and grandchildren, Taryn, Connor and Tyler.
In addition to her parents, Irene was preceded in death by her brother, Leonard.
The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Casimir Catholic Church, in the town of Hull, with the Rev. Wesley Janowski officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time for Mass. Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home, Stevens Point, is assisting the family with arrangements.
