Milwaukee Bucks honor Fond du lac police officers


MILWAUKEE (AP) -- The widow of a slain Fond du Lac police officer and another officer injured were among those honored at the Milwaukee Bucks' final home game in Milwaukee.

Fond du Lac Police Officer Craig Birkholz was killed in a shootout March 20 with a suspect who eventually committed suicide. His partner, Ryan Williams, was shot twice in the chest but survived.

Birkholz's widow Ashley, Williams, and other members the police department were honored during the second quarter of Monday night's game against the Raptors. The Bucks beat the Raptors 93-86.

The crowd gave the group a standing ovation.

Williams told WLUK-TV that it means the world to be honored and respected for their job.
