Cottonville tornadoes destroy wedding tree

COTTONVILLE (WAOW)-- Power lines,  houses and barns: All casualties of the two tornadoes that ripped through Adams County.

But for one woman, it is the tree from her front yard that's hardest to replace.

That tree, under which Patsy Fuller got married, is now one of thousands pummeled in Adams County.

"I didn't know whether to laugh or cry," said Fuller. "Laugh because the house and the outhouse are still standing, but you look all around at the destruction and it makes you want to cry."

Fuller says it's been decades since her treeside wedding... and the loss of so much family history, so many memories, cuts deep.

"I hate to say it, but I said it would have been easier to take the house, because the house in six months or a year you can rebuild. But those trees.. a couple hundred years you'll have them."

"But you know, we'll get it cleaned up and replant. That's all you can do."
