Fugitive parole violator arrested in Town of Pelican

TOWN OF PELICAN (WAOW) – Early Tuesday afternoon the Sheriff's Office investigated a report that a fugitive parole violator was located at an apartment on Sunset Lane.

As a result of this investigation, the Sheriff's Office was required to stop traffic from access to Sunset Lane and make arrangements for children who may be returning home on the school bus. The road was reopened before any school busses needed access to the road.

At approximately 3:10pm the Sheriff's Office Special Response Team (SRT) assisted by the City of Rhinelander Police and the Vilas County Sheriff's K-9 unit, arrested the fugitive at the apartment.

The fugitive, who is identified as Jay W. Lloyd, age 26, Rhinelander, was wanted by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections for violation of his parole.  Lloyd was placed into the custody of the Oneida County Jail.
