Wis. plans statewide tornado drill

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Wisconsin emergency officials are planning a statewide tornado drill.

The National Weather Service plans to issue a mock tornado watch early Thursday afternoon.  Mock warnings will follow for different areas of the state every 10 minutes.  The drill will last about an hour and is meant to test communication systems for watches and warnings.

Emergency officials say the drill also provides schools, families and business an opportunity to practice their response.

The drill will be pushed back to Friday in the event of real severe weather on Thursday.

Ten tornadoes tore across the state's northern and central sections on Sunday.
