Arthur J. Turchen, age 65, of Plover, formerly of Nekoosa, died Saturday, April 16, 2011, at Maple Ridge in Plover.
He was born on Oct. 18, 1945, in Chicago, Ill., to the late Abe and Sara (Rosenberg) Turchen, and has resided in Portage County since 1990.
Arthur attained his associate's degree from Mid-State Technical College in food service management. He had worked at McDonald's, where he met his life partner, Judy; worked at Rainbow Casino in Nekoosa and had also been self-employed in appliance repair.
He enjoyed fishing, gambling, volunteering at the Lincoln Center, Portage County Courthouse and the Plover Meal Site.
Survivors include his life partner of over 15 years, Judy Potter of Plover; Judy's children, Jennifer (Richard) Buckmaster of Plover, and Bradley (April DelAngel) Potter of Fremont; Judy's grandchildren, Lanae, Jadyn, Miles, Dylan & Lluvia.
He is further survived by his siblings, Norty (Judy) Turchen of Ariz., Sybil (Mel) Gratz of Mich., Elaine (Sol) Rosen of Ill., and Jackie (Ron) Turchinski of Nev.
The memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Pisarski Community Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 2911 Plover Road, Plover, with Lay Minister William Loock officiating.
