Angeline M. Zimmerman


Angeline M. Zimmerman, 85, Weston, died Sunday, April 17, 2011 at Aspirus Hospice House, Wausau. Angeline was born April 17, 1926, to the late John and Matilda (Klopotek) Ostrowski in Marathon County. She married Lawrence Zimmerman on October 4, 1947 in Wausau.

Angeline was a wonderful homemaker and led a very active life. She enjoyed music and dancing and was very active with her church in various ladies' clubs. Her children considered her a great baker and it was always a race to see who could get to the cookie jar first. Angeline and her husband Lawrence were foster parents to many children, sharing her love and good spirit. In her later years she enjoyed playing cards and games during the many visits she had from family and friends and still found time to crochet.

Survivors include her husband, Lawrence, two sons, Lawrence "Larry" (Kathy) Zimmerman, Weston and Dennis "Scott" (Darla) Zimmerman, Weston; two daughters, Linda (Kenneth) Strand, Pike Lake, and Shirley (Terry) Hintz, Weston; ten grand-children, Angela and Mark DeYoung, Nashville, Tennesee and Laura Rasmussen, Schofield, Amanda and Lawrence "Bub" Jr., Zimmerman, Weston, Jason Zimmerman Pike Lake, Jodi and Doug Colrud, Kronenwetter, Robby and Nicki Hintz, Hatley, Brian (Carrie) Hintz, Merrill, Brandi (Clyde) Maxwell, Waupun and Tera Hintz, Hatley; ten great-grandchildren; and a sister, Clara Shelbrack, Wausau.

She was also preceded in death by six brothers and nine sisters.

Funeral mass will be celebrated at noon on Wednesday, April 20, 2011, Saint Mark Catholic Church, 602 Military Rd., Rothschild, Rev. Allan Slowiak will celebrate. Entombment will be at Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Visitation will be at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at 12:00 p.m.

Brainard Funeral Home – Everest Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
