GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- Defending Super Bowl champion Green Bay opens the 2011 season against New Orleans, the 2009 Super Bowl champs.
The Packers host the Saints in a Thursday night game Sept. 8 at Lambeau Field under the NFL schedule released Tuesday. NBC will carry the game.
Green Bay travels to division rival Chicago on Sept. 25, and hosts the NFC North champion Bears on Christmas night, Dec. 25.
The Packers travel to Minnesota to take on the Vikings Oct. 23. Green Bay hosts border rival Minnesota in a Monday night game Nov. 14 on ESPN.
Green Bay plays at Detroit on Thanksgiving, Nov. 24. The season concludes New Year's Day against the Lions.
The season hinges on the league and players resolving a lockout now in its second month.
