Is wiffleball bad for your child's health?

NEW YORK (WAOW)--Red Rover, wiffleball and tag are still allowed at New York summer camps, for now.

The New York State Department of Health had considered banning the games after a 2009 law regulating summer camp programs took affect. The agency created a list of "non-passive recreational activities with significant risk of injury," including those childhood past-times. If camp leaders allowed the games, it would have required additional staffing and training.

However after outcry, the agency dropped plan. Health officials plan to review the plan and recommend new legislation.
