NEILLSVILLE, Wis. (AP) -- Clark County authorities say a man has died after getting caught in a skid steer that he was trying to repair.
The sheriff's department said it received a 911 call Monday morning reporting that a man was trapped in a skid steer and not breathing.
By the time deputies arrived at the farm a family member had freed the man. He couldn't be resuscitated and was pronounced dead at the scene.
He was from the Town of Weston. His name hasn't been released.
Investigators say the man was apparently trying to repair mechanical problems. He became pinned between the loader arms and the engine hood at the rear of the vehicle.
A skid steer is a compact heavy-duty vehicle that can be used to move dirt, snow and other loads.
