Despite Lifting of Lockout, No Packers Players Report to Lambeau
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- Although the gate to the players' parking lot at Lambeau Field was open early Tuesday, no Green Bay Packers showed up in the wake of a legal ruling that temporarily lifted the NFL lockout.
As of Tuesday afternoon, Packers president and CEO Mark Murphy said he wasn't aware of any players showing up at Lambeau. Murphy says most players are out of town.
Murphy says the Packers were prepared to allow players into the building and explain the situation to them, but players would not have been able to work out.
Murphy says NFL owners are waiting for a decision on a stay that essentially would keep the lockout in place until an appeal is heard, and would prefer not to resume league business until that decision has been made.
