Girl Scout Event

Newsline 9 received this news release from the Girl Scout Organization:

The Girl Scout Cookie Program reinvests millions of dollars into our communities by funding Girl Scouts' service projects for people in need, and by providing girls with life-changing leadership opportunities.

Proceeds from Girl Scout Cookies help girls build confidence at camp in the summer, or go to Washington, D.C. to see policy in action. It helps prepare a caring adult to deliver life-changing leadership experiences to girls in your community, and now the cookies themselves can make a difference!

On Sunday, May 1, stop by between 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at:

  1. 1.       The Walmart Parking lot on Rib Mountain Drive in Wausau  OR
  2. 2.       Trig's grocery store in Stevens Point (near Toyko Steak House and UWSP)

to help Girl Scouts ‘Stuff the Truck'… taking action to make our communities stronger. Cookies donated at the Wausau event will go to the Women's Community, Neighbor's Place and the Never Forgotten Honor Flight. Cookies donated at the Stevens Point location will be used to thank local police and fire heroes, and to add a little surprise in home-delivered meals through Meals on Wheels and at the Salvation Army.

So consider purchasing cookies for someone in your community who deserves a smile today. And, take this opportunity to add a few for your own freezer!

A lot of cookies taste good... so buy the cookies that do good, too! Girl Scout cookies are only sold once a year, so stock up… and support leadership development in your community!
