Vietnam War sculpture travels to Plover

A tribute to Vietnam veterans rolls into Merrill.  It was built in Tomahawk and unveiled at River Valley Bank.

Now it travels through Merrill on the way to Plover.. where it will be seen again.

The sculpture is made by a veteran himself.. and pays tribute to the more than 11-hundred Wisconsinites killed in Vietnam.

During its brief stop in Merrill.. it's greeted by a band and a 21 gun salute.

Charles Lee Hamilton, Jr./Vietnam Sculpture Builder: "I was inspired to erect this sculpture in honor of them and hope for closure of other veterans, including myself. This will be my last Vietnam sculpture."

The sculpture will be unveiled Friday in Plover.. at the Korean War Memorial just off I-39.
