Ryan to hold 4 more town hall meetings in SE Wis.

WATERFORD, Wis. (AP) -- U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan can expect more large crowds as he continues his series of town hall meetings in southeastern Wisconsin.

The Republican congressman will be making morning stops Thursday in Waterford and Franklin, followed by afternoon stops in Oak Creek and Greenfield.

Ryan drew standing-room-only crowds at four similar meetings earlier this week.  Two events drew so many people that police turned away dozens of supporters and reporters, citing capacity issues.

Many of the attendees wanted to know about Ryan's recently released budget blueprint.  His plan would slash social safety-net programs such as food stamps and Medicaid.  It would also fundamentally restructure Medicare health care for the elderly.  Ryan says his plan will help keep Medicare solvent while also slashing the federal deficit.
