Racing fans packed State Park Speedway in Rib Mountain Saturday. It was the first day of the racing season and a chance for fans to remember racing icon, Dick Trickle. People at the track observed a moment of silence for Trickle. He died Thursday in an apparent suicide at the age of 71. Daniel Woodruff comes to WAOW from Fort Wayne, Indiana where he reported and anchored for the FOX affiliate. He was part of an Emmy-nominated news team and reported stories on a variety of issues.
Prior to working in Fort Wayne, Daniel gained experience in college as a reporter, anchor, and producer at the BYU Daily News, broadcast live throughout Utah. He also completed internships at CNN in Washington, D.C., KSL-TV in Salt Lake City, and the Utah State Legislature.
Daniel is a graduate of Brigham Young University where he majored in broadcast journalism with a minor in political science. He is currently an adjunct instructor of communications at Northcentral Technical College in Wausau. Daniel speaks Ukrainian and Russian and enjoys traveling and learning about new cultures.
In his spare time, Daniel spends time with his wife and their two children, eating out, reading, and staying active.
