TOWNSHIP OF SARATOGA (WAOW)--People are just beginning to clean up after a storm ripped through Saratoga, damaging homes and businesses.
Strong winds picked up roofs and forced pieces of wood through siding. Jagged timber juts out from the side of Debi Clark's home. Her business was also severely damaged. She breeds horses, and one escaped during the storm. A neighbor found it close by.
Debi says she watched from her kitchen as the storm hit, saying it was "surreal" and felt like a scene from a movie.
"You couldn't see from the house the devastation that had gone on in the barns. I mean look at it, it's just...flattened," said Clark.
Clark said all of her animals are safe and even in the minutes after the storm people came by to check on her and help assess damage.
Authorities said storm damage assessment will begin in the early morning hours. Stay tuned to Newsline 9 for the latest.
