Mo. governor expects survivors in Joplin rubble

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon expects rescuers to find survivors in the rubble of Joplin after a massive tornado tore through the city and killed at least 89 people.

Nixon told ABC's "Good Morning America" on Monday that the focus was on search and rescue work after daylight broke over the ruined city of about 50,000 people.  He said about 40 agencies were helping in the operation.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol brought in a mobile command center truck to provide communications since phone and cell services were hit.

Nixon said about 2,000 buildings were "wiped out" by the twister late Sunday, including a hospital.
