Teacher charged with child porn, complaint released

Posted:

VILAS COUNTY (WAOW)-- The eighth-grade math teacher charged with possessing child pornography waives his right to a preliminary hearing.

Michael Wang made his initial appearance in Vilas County Court Monday, after posting at $20,000 cash bond over the weekend.

He's schedule to be arraigned on July 18, where he is expected to enter a plea.

Wang faces 10 felony counts of possessing child pornography.

This comes after leaders at Northland Pines Middle School discovered inappropriate online chats he had with a child, and pornographic files on his school laptop and flash drives.

Up until his court date, Wang's attorney says he will live with his mother in Platteville under the condition that he is not allowed computer access.

WARNING: THE REPORT IS EXTREMELY GRAPHIC.
