WAUSAU (Press Release) - State Park Speedway opens its gates for the 2011 season this Thursday night with the Build from the Heart 75 presented by Newsline Nine. State Park Speedway will donate $1 of every ticket sold to the Build from the Heart project, which is an effort helping to build a handicap accessible home for a Wausau family with two special needs children.
The home also includes a community room where other families may bring their special needs children for playgroups and therapy. Fueled by River Valley Bank and Noah's Never Ending Rainbow hundreds of people and businesses in the Wausau community came together to support the Teeter family and this project. State Park Speedway is proud to be a part of this project and to contribute to a wonderful cause.
"We are very excited to be a part of this project," says State Park Speedway Owner Scott Wimmer, "It's been amazing to see how the Wausau community has come together to help the Teeter family and I am just happy that we can help contribute to this great cause."
Thursday night features a 75-lap super late model race as well as support divisions, which this year include, super stocks, pure stocks and four cylinders. Qualifying takes place at 6:30pm with racing set to start at 7:30pm. "We look forward to the start of another great year," says State Park Speedway Owner Ron Wimmer, "We were definitely please with how last year went. We've made a few more improvements and can't wait for racing to get started."
