Pauline J. Golomski


Pauline J. Golomski, of Stevens Point, formerly of Rosholt, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died Tuesday morning, May 24, 2011, at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.

She was born on June 26, 1918, in Hatley, to the late Jacob and Mary (Ostrowski) Wisniewski. On Nov. 16, 1946, Pauline was married to Harry Golomski in Milwaukee.

During World War II, Pauline worked at International Harvester in Milwaukee and was later a homemaker. She was a member of St. Adalbert's Rosary Society and enjoyed sewing, ceramics, macramé, cooking, gardening, playing cards, bingo and puzzles.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Harry of Stevens Point; daughters, Nancy (Jim) Zblewski of Rosholt, Noreen (Bob) Dulak of Appleton, Sue (Bob) Zimbauer of Plover, and Mary (John) Stroik of Waldo, Wisconsin; sisters, Sally Stenber of Milwaukee, Eleanor Landowski of Bevent, and Loretta Theys of Milwaukee; brother, Louie (Delores) Wisniewski of Milwaukee; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Pauline was preceded in death by her first husband of three months, Clarence Woytasik, who was killed in World War II in 1944; her brothers, Edward and Henry; and sisters, Magdalene Wisniewski, Emily Sommers, Eva Wisniewski, Valerie Backlawski and Catherine Sullivan.

The family thanks the doctors, nurses, chaplains and staff of Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield for their care given to Pauline.

The Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Rosholt with the Rev. Marcin Mankowski officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time for Mass. The rosary will be prayed at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church.
