MERRILL (WAOW) - Merrill students cooked up a storm to raise money for tornado victims.
Students, staff and parents from Trinity Lutheran School pitched in by setting up camp outside starting at 7:00 this morning.
They sold brats, ice cream and baked goods for the cause.
It's an idea hatched by some of the 4th grade students.
Kathy Yahr/Trinity School Principal: "The 4th grade teacher said my students are going out at recess and planning a lemonade stand and they were taking their notebooks and trying to get everything organized. So we decided to help them out a little bit and it turned into something really big."
Volunteers also drove students to local businesses and apartment complexes to deliver pre-ordered meals.
All the proceeds help the victims of last month's storm in Merrill.
