Man accused of plotting to kill estranged wife in SP
PORTAGE COUNTY (WAOW) -- A Stevens Point man faces charges of plotting to kill his wife. It was a case authorities said needed immediate attention, after they found out 50-year-old Rocky Neuman was threatening to strangle his wife to death and bury her body.
Neuman was arrested on Tuesday night. Authorities said he even recruited someone to dig the grave where he planned to bury her later this week.
"It took immediate intervention by the local police department," said Portage County District Attorney Tom Eagon, "and we feel like the action probably helped save the life of his estranged wife."
Neuman owns Downtown Tattoo in Stevens Point. Authorities said they sent a witness there and had her wear a wire. Police said Neuman told her to pick up shovels to help dig the grave with.
Neuman is in the Portage County jail now, awaiting his next court appearance on June 13th. Technically, he and his wife are still married, but authorities said they have been going through the process to get a divorce.
