WESTON (WAOW) -- More than 70 organizations and individuals make donations to the Mission of Mercy, a group created by the Wisconsin Dental Association.
Representatives from Walmart presented a $45,000 check to Mission of Mercy leaders.
"We believe that events like the Mission of Mercy are fulfilling unmet needs in the community that we at Walmart care about because we do business here too," said Walmart Senior Manager of Public Affairs Lisa B. Nelson.
Contributions to Mission of Mercy go towards costs for dental equipment, facility rental and other supplies for their charity event. About 3,500 people have received nearly $2 million worth of free dental care since the organization started in 2009. That number doesn't count the ones being served this weekend.
