SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (AP) -- A California man has drowned in Lake Michigan off the shore of Sheboygan.
Police say 42-year-old Steven Link of San Lorenzo, Calif., was found floating in the lake about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday near the Edgewater Generating Station. Several individuals in the area pulled Link out of the water and began CPR until first responders arrived, but he could not be revived.
The Sheboygan Press (http://bit.ly/ij6aGU ) says the county coroner ruled drowning was the cause of Link's death. He's the second person to drown in the lake near the generating station in less than a year. Officials say the power plant creates a strong current and deep channel, causing the water depth to drop abruptly.
