Former Wis. school superintendent gets 5 years

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- A former New Holstein school superintendent has been sentenced to five years in prison after he was busted in an online sex sting.

The Sheboygan Press reports ( ) 59-year-old Christopher Joseph Nelson hung his head as he learned his sentence and was taken away in handcuffs.

Nelson pleaded guilty in May to using a computer to facilitate a child sex crime. He was arrested in January. Prosecutors say he arranged for a rendezvous with someone he thought was a 15-year-old boy, but was actually an undercover investigator.

Defense attorney Richard Hart says Nelson got involved in something he never should have gotten involved in. He told The Associated Press after the plea hearing that Nelson is working to fix things with his family and is seeking psychological treatment.
