WAUSAU (WAOW)-- High winds, heavy rains and lightning have caused power outages to Wisconsin Public Service electric customers. The outages are the result of strong winds causing branches to break or trees falling onto power lines.
As of 1:15 p.m. there are still 219 power outages in Wausau. That number is effecting almost 3% of that population.
Stevens Point has also experienced numerous power outages across the area. About 1.4% of the population is still without power.
Public Service workers are working to restore power in all areas.
