(CNN)--Young children from low-income families are more likely to get to school by walking or riding a bike.
That's according to a new study published in the Pediatrics journal.
The findings are based on more than seven-thousand students between 6 and 16 years old.
However, after the age of 10, the data shows that the percentage drops.
The University of Montreal Hospital Research Centre says biking and walking should be encouraged, because it's an easy way to get children to be more physically active.
