Jane E. Evans, 90, formerly of Mosinee, died Monday, July 4, 2011, at Allison House, Schofield, under the care of Aseracare Hospice, Wausau.
She was born June 15, 1921, in Cluses, France, the daughter of the late Roger and Louise (Pepin) Bueche. She married Dr. Floyd G. Evans on Feb. 6, 1948, in San Diego, Calif. He survives.
She graduated from Castleton Teacher's College in Vermont and taught elementary school for two years in Vermont, two years in San Diego, and one year in Guam. She was a member Gideon's Auxiliary, Women's Missionary Society, and the church choir. Jane was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed walking, reading her Bible, making delicious soups and meals, spending time with family and friends, and traveling to Switzerland.
Survivors, besides her husband, Dr. Floyd Evans, include two sons, Roger (Judy) Evans, Hammond, and Mark (Debbie) Evans, Appleton; a daughter, Brenda (Scott) Ostrowski, Mosinee; eight grandchildren, Jason Koss, Joe (Lisa) Koss, Christopher (Amy) Evans, Scott Evans, Kent Evans, Eric (Staci) Evans, Ryan (Laura) Evans and Sarah (fiance' Matt) Evans; and seven great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Tanner, Tyler, Mia, Kayla, Lela, Karissa and Hailey.
Memorial services will be in at 11 a.m. Friday, July 8, 2011, at Immanuel Baptist Church, Wausau. The Rev. James Engle will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. Friday until time of services at the church. Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee, is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Jane's name may be directed to Immanuel Baptist Church, 5100 Hummingbird Road, Wausau, Gideon's Auxiliary, or a charity of your choice.
