Wausau yard waste site extends hours after storm

WAUSAU (WAOW)--Wausau's yard waste site is offering extended hours this week in light of last week's storm. You can drop off your yard debris from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Employees said although there wasn't a huge spike in traffic the first day of additional hours on Tuesday, but people started rolling in with branches and cut up wood after five o'clock in the evening.

You can't bring stumps, large trunks or stones to the yard waste site, but grass clippings, branches and other debris is welcome.

There is no curb side pick-up in Wausau, but check with your municipality for information on yard waste removal.
