MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Milwaukee Brewers slugger Prince Fielder says he's selected teammate Rickie Weeks, Los Angeles' Matt Kemp and St. Louis' Matt Holliday to represent the National League in Monday night's Home Run Derby.
Fielder says it was a tough decision and the hardest part was excluding a member of the Arizona Diamondbacks from the squad. Arizona hosts the All-Star Game on Tuesday.
Kemp came into play on Tuesday with an NL-best 22 home runs. Fielder has 21, Weeks has 15 and Holliday has the fewest with 10, but has hit in the contest two previous times.
Fielder says he'll use Triple-A hitting coach Sandy Guerrero as his pitcher in the derby, the same person who threw to him when he won the contest in 2009.
The American League team features 2010 Derby Champ David Ortiz of Boston as captain. He picked teammate Adrian Gonzalez, MLB homerun leader Jose Bautista of Toronto, and Robinson Cano from the Yankees to swing for the fences with him next Monday.
