WAUSAU (Press Release) - Marathon volleyball players Alex Boehm and Sheree Wilichowski have committed to playing volleyball at the University of Wisconsin-Marathon County this fall. Boehm is an outside hitter and Wilichowski is a middle hitter.
Alex has numerous All-Conference recognitions including unanimous First Team All-Conference in volleyball, basketball and softball her senior year. In volleyball she was a three year varsity starter and captain her senior year.
Sheree is a two-time letter winner, having been named Second Team All-Conference. In the off season, she played club volleyball with Wisconsin Ice.
"Both of these players have the ability to make an impact with our program right away. Alex is very athletic and was a multisport star at Marathon. Volleyball is just one sport that she excelled at, racking up numerous awards each year. Sheree will bring height to our team with an imposing block as well as valuable club experience, having played alongside some of the top players in the area when she was with Wisconsin Ice," said UWMC Head Volleyball Coach Matt Greenberg. Both players will follow in the footsteps of Marathon standouts Paige Wirkus, Kelsey Wilkosz and Lisa Blume, all of whom had outstanding volleyball careers at UW-Marathon County.
Alex is the daughter of Brian and Lisa Boehm and her major is undecided.
Sheree is the daughter of Carl and Kim Wilichowski and she plans to pursue a major in English.
