(CNN)--General Motors is offering some of its customers one year's worth of MetLife car insurance free of charge.
It's all part of a new experiment, taking place in just two states---Oregon and Washington.
The deal applies to all new Buicks, Cadillacs, Chevrolets and G-M-Cs.
After the year passes, G-M owners can either renew the policy with MetLife or go elsewhere.
Officials with the automaker hope this move will boost sales.
This offer expires on September 6th.
