GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) -- Police say two ex-girlfriends and his daughter were among the victims of a gunman who fatally shot seven people in Michigan.
Chief Kevin Belk says Rodrick Shonte Dantzler killed his 12-year-old daughter and her mother in the attack in Grand Rapids Thursday evening. Belk says Danztler also shot another former girlfriend at another location, along with her 10-year-old daughter who was not his child.
Belk says Dantzler "went out hunting down" his victims.
GRAND RAPIDS (AP) -- A pickup truck driver stuck in a traffic jam in Grand Rapids says a titanium plate in his nose kept him from being severely wounded or killed by gunman who fatally shot seven people and took his own life.
Robert Poore says that a man later identified as Rodrick Dantzler raised a gun and fired shots at Poore's truck Thursday afternoon. He says a bullet ricocheted off Poore's nose because of the titanium plate that was inserted during cancer treatment as a child.
Poore suffered minor injuries.
Police say the 34-year-old Dantzler killed himself with a single shot to the head late Thursday, ending a standoff. Authorities say Dantzler earlier embarked on an unexplained rampage in which he killed his daughter, an ex-girlfriend and five others.
