Oral E. Panko

Oral E. Panko, 96, Eland, town of Norrie, died Monday, July 11, 2011 at Homme Home Of Wittenberg. She was born December 30, 1914 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of the late Edward & Louise (Fuhrmann) Nedel. On February 14, 1942, she was united in marriage to Earl A. Panko at Zion Lutheran Church, Eland. He preceded her in death on February 1, 2002. Prior to marriage, Oral was a nurse maid in Illinois. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Eland and its Ladies Aid. Oral enjoyed crafts, making Christmas ornaments, knitting sweaters and was a former member of the Art Club, Wittenberg. She loved visiting with family and friends.

Survivors include her children; Laurel (James) Schumacher, Eland, Patricia (Ken) Beck, Bonners Ferry, Idaho, Earl Panko Jr., Shirley (Larry) Muska, both of Eland, Arlen (Judy) Panko, Pearson and Dwight Panko, Eland, seven grandchildren; Tamara (Tim) Ament, Elkim (Fiance Gerard Lanser) Beck, Sherry (Gregg) Pfeifer, Jennifer (Tyler) Marthaler, Joe Schumacher, Jeff Schumacher and Aaron Panko, four great grandchildren and three step great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Dennis. The funeral service will be held at 1pm, Saturday, June 16, 2011 at Zion Lutheran Church, Eland. Rev. Michael Schram will officiate. Interment will be in Forest Home Cemetery, Wittenberg. Visitation will be from 12 noon on Saturday until the time of service at the church.
