The Northwoods League All-Star game is going to be in Wisconsin Rapids this Monday. The home run derby the day before on Sunday.
Northwoods League players, coaches and families will be coming into town from four different states and Canada for this all-star weekend.
The event isn't just for the players, it's for local businesses as well. And while Witter Field gets ready for the large influx of visitors, bars, restaurants and hotels in the surrounding areas should see some foot traffic as well.
Hotel managers said July is the high season for tourists in Wisconsin Rapids, and they're all trying to make the most of the opportunity.
"Our weekend's going to be very hectic with all the weddings and all the baseball tournaments, so it's going to be plenty of running around," said Zach Stratton, front desk associate at Sleep Inn in Wisconsin Rapids. "We're a small town, so we don't have any tourist attractions, so any tournaments or weddings in town is always good business for us."
A few number of restaurants today are excited about the all-star game visitors.
They only have regular Rafter games to compare it to, and they say most of the fans just grab a bite at the stadium.
