Power restoration nearly complete, outages remain in Stevens Point & Rhinelander
GREEN BAY (WAOW) – According to a press release from Wisconsin Public Service, as of 6:45 AM, only about 220 customers of Wisconsin Public Service remain without electricity.
Immediately following the severe storms Sunday evening, about 35,000 customers lost power.
Crews worked through the night and only a handful of outages remain.
Nearly all customers will be back on when one outage in Rhinelander with 180 customers and one in Stevens Point affecting 40 customers are completed sometime this morning.
WPS had called in assistance from other area utilities and electric line contractors. In all, around 300 people were working in the field to restore service.
WPS appreciates the patience of its customers during the restoration process that took place in very uncomfortable weather. Customers are urged to take care in doing any cleanup work around power lines.
