WAUSAU (WAOW) - Woodchucks All-Star pitcher Tom Briner will miss at least a chunk of the Northwoods League 2nd half. He will return to California this week to rest a strained muscle in his lower back. Briner says he has pitched with the injury for nearly 3 weeks, and after consulting with doctors, chiropractors, and both his college and Woodchucks coaches, he's learned that he needs to shut it down. Briner has been great despite the injury, compiling a 0.93 ERA in 5 starts.
