UPDATE: Travel ban lifted in Stevens Point; leaders urge extreme caution


STEVENS POINT (WAOW) -- The travel ban in Stevens Point is lifted.

Mayor Andrew Halverson and Portage County Emergency Management leaders asked drivers to stay off Stevens Point street as crews worked to clean up downed trees and power lines.

Leaders urge drivers to use extreme caution as many trees and electrical lines are still down.

According to the Wisconsin Public Service website, 17,118 customers are still without power.
