Everest Metro officers respond to call, find couple fighting over gun

WESTON (PRESS RELEASE) --  On Tuesday, July 18th at approximately 8:21pm, the Everest Metro Police Department received a 911 cell call from a resident in the 6400 block of Ross Ave.

Officers responded to the listed address of the cell phone owner and heard yelling and screaming from inside the residence.

The doors to the residence were open and an EMPD corporal responded inside and observed a male and female wrestling on the floor, fighting for control of a loaded shotgun.

The officer was able to retrieve and secure the loaded gun and take the male subject into custody.

Grinwald was despondent over family and personal issues and took the phone away from his live-in girlfriend when she tried calling 911.

The male subject, James Grinwald, 37 years old of Weston, was charged with 22nd Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety (felony), Going Armed While Intoxicated and Disorderly Conduct, all as Domestic Abuse.   Grinwald is being held at the Marathon County Jail in lieu of these charges.   Grinwald had a blood alcohol level of .13.
