The stage is set for the state senate's 12th District.
Kim Simac won the Republican primary to face Senator Jim Holperin.
Simac defeated challenger Bob Lussow with 59 percent of the vote.
Leading up to the primary election, Simac and Holperin spent a lot of time focusing on each other—something they'll do a lot more in the next few weeks.
"I'm going to do the best I can to bring jobs back here," Simac said, "to lessen the tax burden that we have, and to take care of our ever increasing property taxes and everything we have going on."
"Our ground game remains the same," Holperin said. "We intend to work very hard through August 16th, and I intend to try and get my message out that I have worked hard for the people of Northern Wisconsin."
The general recall election is scheduled for August 16th.
