LAKE HALLIE, Wis. (AP) -- Two people remain missing after a western Wisconsin boat collision that killed two others.
Authorities said Saturday that a Princecraft boat, which is similar to a pontoon boat, was carrying six people on the Chippewa River when it hit a speedboat with two people on board Friday night.
The Eau Claire Leader-Telegram (http://bit.ly/q6udw3) reports that Chippewa County Undersheriff Eugene Gutsch says one person in each boat was killed. Three people were treated at hospitals and one man was arrested.
The Chippewa Herald (http://bit.ly/r5QyvV) reports authorities are investigating possible alcohol use.
Officials searched for two missing men, ages 25 and 28, until about 1:30 a.m. They resumed for about six hours later Saturday until stopping temporarily for a thunderstorm.
Gutsch says people on one boat had gathered for an upcoming wedding.
