Third heat-related death confirmed in Wis.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Wisconsin health officials say an 80-year-old Illinois man died from heat-related causes while staying at his second home in Marquette County last week.

It is the third confirmed heat-related death this summer.

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services confirmed Monday that the man died on July 19 during the heat wave that gripped the state. Wisconsin Emergency Management said that the man had underlying health issues and apparently collapsed after spending time outside in the heat.

Two other heat-related deaths last week have been confirmed by the state. One was a 65-year-old Columbia County man and another was an 82-year-old Prairie du Chien woman.
