Chairman of EAA is retiring

OSHKOSH, Wis. (AP) -- The chairman of the Experimental Aircraft Association and AirVenture Oshkosh is retiring.

Tom Poberezny retired last September as president and chief executive officer and is retiring the chairman position as of Aug. 1.

Current EAA president and CEO, Rod Hightower, will take over as chairman.

Poberezny took over EAA in 1989 from his father, Paul, who had served as president of the organization since it was founded in 1953.

Poberezny will become chairman emeritus Aug. 1.

EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh runs through Sunday.
