CLARK COUNTY (PRESS RELEASE)--A 22 year old Kendall man is in custody for burglary to the O-W Pharmacy in Withee.
On Wednesday, July 27, 2011, shortly after 2:30 am, the Clark County Sheriff's Department received a 9-1-1 call of a suspicious person in the Village of Withee, near some businesses on Division St. Upon arrival of the first Sheriff's Deputy, it was observed that a side window was broken out of the pharmacy.
The Deputy did observe a person inside the pharmacy and requested additional assistance. Officers from the Owen, Thorp, Colby-Abbotsford and Loyal Police Departments all responded to assist as well as additional Sheriff's Department units.
At approximately 3:50 am, the suspect attempted to flee out a back door and was apprehended without incident. The suspect was identified as Corey C. Riley, 22, Kendall. Riley is being held in the Clark County Jail on a Probation Hold. Burglary charges will be referred to the District Attorney's Office later today. Investigation is continuing into this incident.
The Sheriff's Department commends the assistance of the citizen that reported this suspicious activity. Without this information this incident may not have had the same conclusion. The Sheriff's Department encourages anyone seeing anything that may be suspicious to report it immediately.
